Why We Think Craft Beer Is Cool
As the craft beer industry continues to grow and improve, craft beer drinker’s expectations are also growing. So to is their knowledge as they learn more about the process behind the beer they’re consuming: where it’s brewed, how it tastes, and why it tastes like it does. In return, small breweries like ours are stepping up to the plate (or should I say mash tun) and looking to make the tastiest beers possible. We’re focusing on quality grains and seasonal ingredients; while looking back on beer’s long history for inspiration, as we introduce new styles, flavours, and concepts to customers.
Beer and Food Pairing Suggestions
We all know beer and food are awesome friends, but this special relationship often goes beyond burgers and brats! The world of beer pairing has grown exponentially, as people explore beer’s full potential. Marinades, sauces, and baked goods are traditional ways beer has been used in the kitchen. Food pairing, however, goes beyond this to look at the nuances of a particular beer or an individual style and how it can compliment the foods we eat and vice versa. Many believe the depths of beer’s potential to compliment food is vast and just as interesting (if not more so) than wine. In light of this, we’ve decided to offer suggestions on what you might eat or cook with our beers. This is by no means the be all and end all of culinary information, but we hope it inspires you to cook something different or try something new the next time you go out for dinner. We’ve also decided to post/share some of our favourite beer recipes or dishes. You’ll be able to find them on our blog page or by subscribing to our newsletter.
Recommended Glassware for Craft Beers
When it comes to beer, not all glassware is created equal. Sure, you can pour your favourite ale into whatever container you have lying around the house and successfully deliver that beer to your mouth. But there is a reason why particular styles of beer are traditionally served in specific types of beer glasses. It isn’t just for looks (although looks certainly play a role). Rather, the different shapes and styles of beer glassware were, in many cases, designed to enhance the aromatic compounds inherent to different kinds of beer. And as we all know, smell has a huge impact on how we perceive flavour. Therefore, the right beer glass can take your beer-drinking experience to new heights.
