WHAT TO EXPECT:
Flexible hours and weekend availability needed. Salary position, would be based on experience, plus benefits after 90-day probation period. The brewer position is responsible for carrying out brew house, cellar, and packaging operations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a team player mentality. Duties listed below are the minimum requirements, other tasks may be asked of you. Reports to head brewer.
WHAT THE JOB ENTAILS:
- Operate the Brewhouse; following recipes and ensuring overall quality
- Cleaning and Sanitizing of tanks, equipment, hoses, etc
- Dose, blend, and mix products
- Understanding and practicing all internal safety standards
- Assist in a new project and product development
- Brewing area housekeeping
- Assist with creation and maintenance of SOP’s
- Perform organizational tasks and problem solving
- Other duties as required
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Position may require long periods of standing and walking
- Required to work in a loud, open area
- May be required to lift heavy objects and complete tasks that are physically demanding
- Required to meet a number of deadlines which may cause stress
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE JOB:
- Formal Brewing Experience, 1-2 years experience preferred
- Education in Brewing, Food Science, Chemistry or Microbiology an asset
- Able to perform minor maintenance repairs
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, team work and proactivity
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- A strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask and prioritize
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
